Bruce Lee
Bruce "Jun Fan" Lee is the founder of Jeet Kune Do or "The Way of the Intercepting Fist". It was named for the concept of interception or attacking while one's opponent is about to attack. Bruce believed that marial art styles had become too rigid and unrealistic and that combat should evolve and is spontaneous. He taught that a good martial artist should "be like water" and move fluidly without hesitation. He described Jeet Kune Do as "training and discipline toward the ultimate reality in combat. The ultimate reality is the returning to one’s primary freedom, which is simple, direct and non-classical."
Jeet Kune Do has four guiding principles:
-Simplicity
-Economy of motion
-Longest weapon to the nearest target
-Always thinking of hitting

Jerry Poteet
Branded by the Inside Kung Fu magazine editor, “the greatest Jeet Kune Do instructor in the world,” original Bruce Lee student Jerry Poteet is known by many as “the conscience" and "the source" of Jeet Kune Do training. He was fortunate enough to be chosen as the second student admitted to Bruce Lee’s Chinatown School in Los Angeles, CA. He was also selected to be in a “closed door” group of five students, who trained with Bruce Lee twice a week. Since his teacher’s premature passing, Jerry has stood firm, refusing to water down the art that had such an enormous impact in his life. The last years of Sifu Jerry's life were dedicated to preserving and refining the precious legacy of Jeet Kune Do. His students are noted for amazing skills, all attributable to Jerry's unique teaching method and curriculum. Sifu Jerry's legacy is kept alive by protege Sifu Fran Poteet Joseph through the Jerry Poteet Jeet Kune Do Association.
